Climbing 201

This semester, Frick registered for several classes that have proven to be challenging to his young mind. PREK3, the core class, is going well.  A three hour course, 5 days a week certainly wears one out.  Frick signed up for Photography 101 as one of his electives.  He excelled in finding the beauty in still photos such as:

and

But the class that seems to be the most daunting is Climbing 201.  Being a 200 level course, the climbing arenas gradually become more challenging.  This week’s project consisted of a a wall-scaling activity.  Frick was determined to climb a rope such as this:

This rope is in the trickiest of positions; it is on the wall and attached to the window treatment.  The above shot was taken of the other window in the room to give you an idea of what it looked like BEFORE Frick began his assignment.  This is a picture of what the actual assignment looked like AFTER:

Yeah.  My son, Frick the Climbing Extraordinaire, actually scaled the wall using the rope decoration attached to the curtain rod.  Down came the rod.  Down came Frick.

Grade:

A:  for effort

C:  for content

**No children were harmed during the execution of this assignment.

You have no idea what you are in store for in the future. I remember tying hot wheels to fishing rods and “casting” them over the roof of our house when I was around 13. BUT we would first douse them with lysol and set them on fire. It was pretty cool seeing those flaming cars go flying through the air. True story. Boys will do some crazy stuff.

Good grief I remember when my boys were that little and even though my “baby” is almost three and is of the female variety, she climbs EVERYTHING!

I remember when my, now 18 year old, twins, were preschool age…I thought having one of each variety (more proof that God has a sense of humour!), that perhaps Meg’s might temper Matt’s sense of adventure. NO SUCH LUCK! I had two rambunctious tots! Toddlers…squared!
