Switching Ears

My mom and I were reminiscing about my grandparents recently.  Mom emailed me this story and it got me laughing again.

Granny was in a nursing home for rehabilitation. My mom went to visit her and suggested she call one of her friends in Pennsylvania. The conversation went like this…

(**the names have been changed**)

“Hello, Iris? This is Maggie.”

 Long silence

“This is Maggie; I’m in a nursing home for rehab.”

Long silence

Maggie (Granny) takes the phone from her right ear and places it on her left ear and says,

“I switched ears. Can you hear me better now?”

So funny…I remember when my Granny was in the hospital one time, and the nurse put the thermometer in her ear, and she(Granny) started saying, “Hello…Hello”, it was so funny…such wonderful memories!!

OMG! That is the funniest thing EVER! I was just chatting with a client today about how my grandmother’s dementia was not funny as it was happening…but it sure is funny to think about now!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and sharing the love!
