Welcome, Rosie!

…Life’s About a Dream

is pleased to announce

the arrival of Rosie the Roomba

April 1, 2008

10:30pm

20″ x 17.5″ x 5.5″

12.5lbs

She’s here! After a long, tedious labor, Rosie arrived charged up and ready to go. She is currently vacuuming as I blog!! It really is amazing technology. She works herself into the corners, underneath the couches and chairs. Unbelievable. I wish my camera was not broken, or I would have a picture or video of her doing her thing.  I am so happy…or is it I am happy that I can continue to be lazy? 🙂

Disclaimer:  This is probably the closest I will ever get to having a girl.  We all know BP and I only make boys.

Congrats on the addition of Rosie! I bet life has gotten a little bit easier since her arrival!?

  9. Yaya
    Dec 10, 2008 @ 05:52:53

Does that thing really work? Every time I see an ad for it I think of the Saturday Night Live skit where there’s the roomba woman’s vibrator…hahahaha!

  10. Heather
    Dec 10, 2008 @ 06:21:46

LOL I was just about to write almost the same exact comment as Yaya’s right above! I totally thought of the SNL commercial parody for “woomba” and also am very intrigued as to how well the roomba works! Now that it has been a few months, do you still love it?

I think if we had one of those (I can dream, can’t I?) that our cat would go INSANE. She already goes nuts when we open the DVD player to put a DVD in the thingy and then close it again.

    Thanks for the chuckle! Cheers!

OMG! That birth announcement is hilarious! Sooo…do they really work? I just can’t imagine a thing like that actually picking up stuff. Is it on all the time just zooming around the house???

    Dec 10, 2008 @ 08:22:48

I had to Google Roomba just to see what it was. I think it’s totally awesome. It wouldn’t work in my house because I’d have to pick up all the clothes I throw on the floor. (Well it wouldn’t work in my bedroom at least) Plus, I think my two dalmatians would attack it. Congrats on you SITS day!

    Dec 10, 2008 @ 08:38:36

    Happy SITS day, SITSta!

    Cute post!

We have a pharmacy robot at work that delivers meds to the ICU. Her name is Rosie, too. We have a lot of fun teasing her…she speaks in English and Spanish, and starts freaking out if you get in her way: “My way is blocked. Please stand clear!” over and over, first in one language, then the other.

    Yeah, we’re easy to entertain.

  30. Jerrie
    Dec 10, 2008 @ 09:03:53

I love my Roomba too. We pick up the playroom, turn on the Roomba, close the doors, and an hour later the room is nice and clean with beautiful vacuum lines and all. It even knows enough not to fall down the stairs. It’s great!

Hah. Cute way of telling about it. We bought one a long time ago, used it a few times and now it’s at the bottom of the closet waiting to be given away. I got sick of cleaning it out. I’d much rather take my Dyson out now. How do you feel about it now a few months later?

Ok so I’m way late on your SITS day. It’s been a bad week, but I’m finally making the rounds. I love the birth announcement. I totally get your excitement, and I hope she continues to be a wonderful addition to your family.
