Ash Wednesday + Kids + Mass = Always Interesting

This evening, we attended our parish’s Ash Wednesday Mass.

BP was to go with us, but unfortunately, he was in bed and sick, sick, sick.

The Mommy Show was on.

Frack led us straight to the very front row, which actually helps the boys pay a bit more attention.

As I genuflected and crossed myself, I said a desperate silent prayer that  these lively, precious boys would behave, pray and be non-squirmy in that very front row, with the congregation behind us.

Each boy knelt with their hands folded and angelic faces looking to the crucifix.

Frog was most precious in this pose.

After his prayer, he did his version of the sign of the cross.

So cute.

During communion, Frog was transfixed.

In the front row at our church, you must sit in your seat and not kneel after receiving The Eucharist, as people are receiving the sacrament right in front of you.

So there sat Frog watching all the people walk by and take communion.

And then he pipes up,

“Hey!  Hey guy!” (he was referring to the Eucharistic Minister) “I want some!”

I gently whisper to him that he must make the sacrament and will when he is 8.

Silence.

Moments pass.

“Ok.  I 8 now.  Gimme some.”

The boys were perfect.  And pious.  And especially precious.

What a sight it is to see your child looking to God in the most reverent way with his hands folded.

I may have teared up a little.

Sigh.

Happy 7th Birthday!

Our lovable Frack turns 7 today!

It seems like just yesterday he was brought home…a newborn welcomed home by his 15 month old brother.

And now that newborn is 7!

Frack continues to teach me how to be the best parent, teacher, and friend I can be.

He has truly blessed our lives and added tons of laughter to it.

Happy Birthday to you, my favorite SEVEN year old!

The One Where There Are a Bazillion Pictures Because I Haven’t Posted in Months.

Life is fast and furious!

The last time I posted, I had to sum up the summer.

Now I have to sum up the beginning of the school year.

It’s November for Pete’s sake!!

GAH.

We’ve been busy in school!

Frack is in first grade and Frick is in second.

I love the reflectors doing their job and doing it well with the flash of my camera.

These boys are at my school with me and I LOVE having them there.

We’ve been busy taking naps in the car because someone wants to begin giving it up.

Sorry, but Mom ain’t having it, Frog.

However we did give up the beloved paci on October 29.

We’ve been busy losing teeth!!

Frack is missing two and Frick is missing 4.

We keep the Tooth Fairy in business around here.

Halloween was bittersweet.

Frick was sick with a 103 degree fever, caused by strep throat.  He unfortunately was not feeling up to trick or treating.

We did get a pose from him as Pajama Man with the rest of the family, as he was coasting on his Motrin high.

And his Mom is a rockstar because she filled his bucket to the brim with candy for her him.

Frog turned three on November 5th.  Three.

GAH.

Doesn’t it seem like he was just born?!

We’ve spent some time at Clemson watching our beloved Tigers play.

Each time Frog sees the Tigers on TV or in a book he says,

“Ooooo!!  We went there!  Wet’s go back!!”

And today is Frick’s 8th birthday!

He started off the day on the school’s news program with a Birthday Book we bought for him through the school library.

What  a post!

Hopefully, it won’t be three months before I update again.

Summer 2012

I thought a summer wrap up post would be best for updating the blog, seeing as how I have neglected it so.

School starts this week for me and on the 20th for the boys.

Both Frick and Frack are headed to my public school this year.

Frick will be in second grade and Frack will be in first.

Unbelievable.

Sigh.

The majority of pictures in this post are of Frog and are small.

I didn’t plan it that way, but considering his brothers have waaaay more pictures on here than he does,

I figured it’s all good.

As far as the small size of the pictures…well, all I can figure out is it’s the way they are uploaded.  I tried to make them bigger, but the pixels became wacky.  So small it is.  My apologies.

This summer, we:

…got fat lips

and strep throat.

That was fun.

…went to a children’s museum a bit away from us:

…picked up Dad from the airport when he returned from a few of his multiple business trips taken in June and July.

That’s us waiting at the gate for him.

…played in our “Kid Wash” that BP made straight from Pinterest.

….swam on a swim team and dropped all of our times.  In fact, one meet in particular offered tshirts as heat winner prizes.  BOTH boys received a tshirt and killed their times by 30+ seconds.

That’s huge.

…went to the beach again with the family.  Frack managed to get strep throat and had to be quarantined just about the whole trip.  On the way home to see our doctor, Frog threw up 4 times in the car and Frick did a sympathy puke.

Good times.

I’ll leave you with this last picture of Frog.

He’s become VERY attached to two blankets and a paci he’s slept with since birth.

Each night when he’s ready for bed, he goes and gets those items.

It’s our clue to get him to bed.

Have you ever heard of such cuteness?

“Kid Wash”

BP built this for the boys today:

They’ve had lots of fun running and riding bikes and scooters through their very own Kid Wash.

I can’t think of a better way to usher in summer.

This may just be our method of bathing these next few months.

Mother’s Day 2012

Breakfast and cuddles in bed,

handmade gifts from adorable children,

including this precious lollipop corsage made by Frack,

and pictures with my boys on the porch before Mass.

What a great day!

Busy Doesn’t Even Describe It.

So where have we been?

Well, we’ve….

waited patiently for Daddy’s plane to arrive at the airport after a week long business trip.

That was the week The Mommy Show was running again–or shall I say I was running to and fro with the boys–AHEM.

We’ve…

…been playing lots of baseball (Frick is the catcher).

Two boys on two different teams and two different fields that happen to be on opposite sides of the park is LOTS of fun.

And we’ve….

…been busy getting shiners on our eye at birthday parties.

Just a little catch up post to let you know we are, in fact, still around.

:)

Spring Is in Full Swing

It’s that time of year.

Both older boys are playing baseball, so we are dividing our time between practices and games.

Oh, and then there’s karate.

And poor Frog gets to tag along to each.

:/

But the boys love it.

Watching their faces light up when they get a hit or catch the ball makes all the running around worth it.

There is also a great pack of siblings around for the kids to play with whenever they are supporting their other brother.

Frog finds the wonders of the ball field/construction zone (they are redoing our city’s recreational ball park) simply amazing.

The most exciting parts of the first game were when Frick stepped up to the plate and hit the ball on the first pitch both times he was at bat.

And this was from a pitching machine–no more coach’s pitch.

Have you seen how fast a pitching machine pitches the ball?

Sheesh.

This is his second at-bat:

I was that crazy mom screaming and crying.

Yep.

My Three Sons

Frog and I spent some time at the mall on Sunday.

He was in a terrible mood.

So I made him work the bad mood out.

Ok, ok.

He wanted to push the stroller.

And carry the “packpack”.

See?

He loved every minute of it.

This picture makes me wanna squeeze his cheeks.

Cu-tie.

His brothers are pretty cute, too.

Best buds.

Until one swipes a toy or poots on the other.

Boys are gross.

But cute.

Happy 6th Birthday Frack!

It’s hard to believe how quickly they go from this:

to this:

Frack has grown into a smart, sweet, energetic boy.

He’s reading and writing now, impressing us with his neat handwriting and desire to learn.

He loves to build things–Legos, blocks, roads, tracks.

I was so excited to get this picture via text today from Frack’s teacher.

I think he rather enjoyed himself today.

Happy 6th Birthday Frack!!
