Renovations to our humble abode have been moving along. The old roof has been completely removed and replaced with plywood and a special covering for protection…just in time for a major thunderstorm that whipped through the area last night. What a relief it was to not have a monsoon INSIDE the house! The new tin roof will be added on Monday. The front porch’s roof has been torn off totally, making our house look kinda bizarre. The Fix It Guys will be building a new porch next week–there was a lot of rotting and structural damage to the original. I can’t wait to see the final product.
We are leaving for the beach today. Part of me is glad to be away from the constant pound, pound, pounding. But the other part of me wants to be here in case something goes wrong (ie–Mt. St. Helen’s erupting in the house again). BP’s sister generously offered to come by and take pictures throughout the week so we can see the progress while we are gone. I will do some posting while we are “relaxing” with 3 kids under 3, my parents, and my brother and SIL. Chau!

Have a good time on vacation! Though they are not the same when you have small children
